After my family became Christians, my dad was always encouraging me to study the Bible after high school. But, I just wasnt interested. I couldn't see how that was going to help me have a good future. But he never let up, always encouraging me to consisder it.
After graduation, I had the chance to study at a state college. My mom gave me the $100 registration fee out of her proceeds from selling noodles. That was a lot of money for our family. I went and arrived 10 days early. I paid the registration fee and then had to wait. I immediately found myself struggling with depression. I called home and my parents suggested I come home for the week. So I did.
At home, my mom was upset about the registration money, but all my dad said to me was, "Ampawn, God is waiting" That really struck a nerve and I started to think about the idea of studying Bible. That week, my dad took me to a Christian conference. An alumni of LTC was the main speaker. After 3 days of Bible classes, I was starting to get hooked. But, the real kicker came from a conversation I overheard between the LTC Alumni and a group of men from a different tribe in a remote area of my country,.
These men were begging the preacher to please come and teach their people about the Bible. They explained that there was a small band of believers, but no preacher, no teacher to guide them in the Christian life. They wanted to understand how to read and study the Bible and how to apply God's Truth to their daily life.
I listen to these men plead for the very opportunity that I had right in front of me. I thought, "Why do I have this chance yet resist it, and these men want it yet don't have the chance." I couldn't shake the feeling that someone needed to go and teach these people. Who could go? The answer came quickly... Me! That is how God brought me to LTC.

Ampawn came to LTC and met Uuy, another student from her tribe and country. They are engaged and plan to serve God together.
I recently read a statistic that said nearly 50% of churches in SE Asia are without a Pastor or any kind of leader who is trained in the Scriptures. They are truly like "sheep without a shepherd".
Please pray for us at LTC... Please help us ... to train more young people just like Ampawn and Uuy who will Go and make Disciples!
