Introduction to CMO
Beliefs and Values
The foundation for CMO's mission and its operational polices is a shared set of beliefs and values that reflect its Independent Christian Church/Churches of Christ heritage. CMO's doctrinal statement provides the guiding principles for maintaining the the organizations identify.
How did we begin?
David & Deloris Filbeck in 1963
Our story began 53 years ago at a small Bible college in Southwest Missouri with two young people preparing for ministry.
David Filbeck was a student at Ozark Christian College in Joplin Missouri when he heard a missionary from Thailand tell about the Lua tribal people living in the jungles of northern Thailand. David decided right then that he would be the one to go. In 1960, he and Deloris arrived in Thailand to begin what would become a 58 year ministry that included Bible Translation, Church Planting and Leadership Training.

What is our Mission?
CMO believes that the highest calling for believers in Jesus Christ is to connect people to Jesus. And if we are to be successful then we must focus our efforts in mobilizing God's People to reach out and into their communities with the Gospel Message. Therefore, CMO establishes ministries that seek to equip God's people with knowledge, skills, resources and courage to bring Hope to the Lost. Our Center of Ministry is Lanna Theological Center in Chiang Mai, Thailand. From this point, alumni are sent out equipped and ready to serve and expand God's Kingdom.
